I am an inclusive photographer of all people and families regardless of race, religion, gender, etc. I believe family might mean the one you were born into, or married into, or chose to love you. Generally, I photograph families in three places: inside my studio for minimal timeless portraiture with lighting that creates a classic yet modern feel, outside around the Cultural District in Fort Worth with natural light using medium format film and clean lines of the architecture to frame you, and at your home where you make all of the memories. I enjoy each of these settings for different reasons. The studio and your home offer air conditioning and heat. At the studio, the lighting is always perfect, and there's no need for you to vacuum and tidy up. At your home, you don't even have to put on shoes, and the comforts of home are plain to see in your family members' faces. Outdoors can feel magical at golden hour, and with the right mindset on the behalf of the parents, the photo session feels like a low key adventure or play date. Wrangling kids outside in the midst of mosquitoes in nearly year-round oppressive Texas humidity, however, is not for the weary, so as I've grown older I've embraced working with toddlers for a very short period of time (15-20 minutes) inside the four walls of my studio to create a handful of incredible images for you and grandparents. If you have another location in mind that is meaningful to your family, I'm happy to travel. For information specific to newborn family sessions, see the guide HERE. And, if you're interested in senior portraits, that portfolio is linked HERE with a guide HERE.
